“ When you visualize, then you materialize.”
– Denis Waitley.
Okay confession time: I was really feeling myself on New Year’s Eve with my endless prosecco and paella dinner. The pleasure that my husband and I took in planning the meal for days, cooking together, and thoroughly enjoying our dinner is the tone I want for 2021.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Now resolutions are a standard for a new year but this year, I’m going more with a vibe rather than a set in stone list of resolutions. My vibe for 2021 is to live with intention whether it’s my fitness and mental health journey or my career, I want to live this year with intention. Sometimes with the mundane routine in our lives, we are just living without any purpose or direction so I want to make a conscious effort to do better this year.⠀⠀
For my vision board this year, I decided to go with a digital version. I love this option for a vision board because I didn’t have to scour my old magazines for the images that I wanted and I could add my own touch with the amazing elements that Canva offers. Anytime I open up my desktop, I’m reminded of what I’m striving for in the new year.
Here’s how I created my vision board on Canva…
- Open up the Canva app on your phone or Canva.com on your desktop.
- Search for “Desktop Wallpaper” and select “Create a Blank Desktop Wallpaper”.
- Now to create the photo grid, you go to the Elements option.
- From here, scroll down to find the available photo grid options. I went with a 6-photo layout.
- Click and drag over to your blank canvas. Now you can find stock photos via the Photos option, by searching the topic for example, travel or road trip, click and drag the photo into your grid or you can upload your own personal photos via the Upload option.
- After you’ve filled your grid, you can add elements like stylized quotes, hand drawn illustrations or free text words…whatever speaks to you.
- You can also add a filter to your photo grid to match your aesthetic. I went with a black and white urban filter called “Street” as it was less busy on my desktop.
After you’re done, you select Download. Once it’s done downloading, you can right-click the PNG file and set as your desktop wallpaper.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Disclaimer: I have Canva Pro which gives me access to elements and features that are not available on the free version.
